AviaCost was founded by Chris Doerr — the same person who built Aircraft Cost Calculator from scratch in 2011, grew it into the industry standard, sold it, and spent five years watching what the market still needed. AviaCost is the answer.
The Founder Story
In August 2011, Chris Doerr launched Aircraft Cost Calculator (ACC) — the first platform to give aviation professionals structured, accurate cost data for business jets. It became the most widely used aircraft cost tool in the industry.
He sold ACC to Controller.com, a Sandhills Global company based in Lincoln, Nebraska, completed a five-year non-compete, and used that time to do what he does best: work the market. With 25+ years as an IADA-certified aircraft broker at Holstein Aviation, Chris has personally modeled 200+ aircraft and advised on hundreds of transactions spanning light jets to ultra-long-range widebodies.
